JD's career began in the early 90's with the americana-roots group Accoustic Connection. Opening for country artists like grammy winner Dan Seals and appearing on the Charlie Daniels' Talent Roundup on TNN, JD continued to shine as he developed his songwriting. In the fall of 1997 his band performed for Los Angeles' Billy Block's Western Beat and were then nominated for the National Academy of Songwriters Accoustic Underground, "Songwriters of the Year" award which featured music written by JD Priest.
2000: Release of "Sum of Soul", a four-song EP producing hits like "Be With You" and "Right On". Special musical guest SHOPPY.
2002: JD Priest is touring the country as a sponsored artist for the national music retailer Guitar Center, then recieved a special invitation to perform with Heather Sullivan for California's Lieutenant Governor, Cruz Bustamante.
2005: JD opens the stage
for classic rock legends, such as John Waite (the Baby's), Lou Grahm (Foreigner), Micky Thomas & Starship, the Calling, Jimmy Van Zant and more! He also shares the stage with world-class performers like percussionist Paulo Matioli.
In recent years JD was blessed
with the opportunity to entertain at many special events for the Orange County Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Los Angeles Children's Hospital.
2007: "Falling Forward", JD's new release, uses catchy melodies and hooks to communicate the real sensitivity and depth of his writing. Working together with engineer/producer Kelly McGuire, the two have put together 10 tracks which give testimony to the "emotional struggle of a love-tormented soul".
JD Priest is currently searching for a publishing deal and a relationship with a solid independent label for promotional & distribution support.
